After more than two decades as an award-winning graphic designer for clients including Discovery Channel, PBS, Conde Nast and The U.S. Mint, Laura Henderson put her BFA in Painting & Printmaking to work in a second career as a Mixed Media Photographic Artist. By combining her luminous original photography with digital and AI painting techniques, and adding touches of light and sparkle with mica powders, metallic accents, polymer clay and Austrian crystals, Laura creates dazzling compositions in a range of styles.

Each series is produced in a strictly limited edition of up to –  but never more than – three, and no two within an edition are exactly alike, making each single-edition print an original in its own right. Using an array of supports including mounted canvas, glossy aluminum, lustrous metallic photo papers, and fine 100% cotton rag art papers, Laura matches style and subject matter to finish, creating effects from painterly to Pop Art. Laura believes that quality is in the details and presents work in new and reclaimed framing backed with Italian grafiche papers in traditional designs, ensuring that the reverse of every piece is as pleasing to the eye as the front.

The artist divides her time between the picturesque towns and sweeping vistas of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, and the historic architecture and light-filled marshes of South Carolina’s Lowcountry; locations which offer no shortage of spectacular subject matter. Ranging further afield, she turns her camera and cursor on Italy, Ireland, Iceland and Scotland, offering her unique interpretation of the stunning landscapes and charming vignettes of daily life in those countries to collectors worldwide.
