Comments Notes for Sarah "Sally" EFLAND
Information I found in central NC area courthouses indicated that Sarah Eafland was the daughter of John Ephland and Catherine. A Levi Ephlin witnessed Sally's wedding to Henry Black. (Levi married Henry's sister, Nancy in 1838, at which wedding Henry was a witness.)

I am trying to connect Sarah and John Ephland to the Orange County Efland family. The Eflands of Orange County seem to have come from two Efland sons from Hunterdon County, NJ, said to be the sons of Johann David Efland and his wife Anna Maria. David and Anna Maria Efland (I have included all these family files in my GEDCOM and on my website) had three sons (and four daughters - there may also have been a second son of David and his first wife, Rebecca Schneider also named John b. in 1704?):

1. John b. 1716 - Served in Revolutionary War and went to Orange County, NC
2. Peter b. 1718 - Served in Revolutionary War and went to Orange County, NC
3. Freidrich b. 1720 - Descendants moved to Canada, Ohio and points north and west of NJ. I have generally ruled him out as an ancestor or our Sarah.
Notes for Henry (Spouse 1)
Sally Efland and Henry Black already had a child together when they married. See Bastardy Bonds; Guilford Co., NC 1835-1854.1
