Notes for Joel BROOKS
In 1860 Royal S. (Stephen), age 19 (b. Mar 6, 1841), and Maranda, age 13, were living with Joel and Parthena Brooks. This may have been one of Warren Brooks Sr.'s grandchildren, since Warren Sr.'s son, Royal S(tokely) Brooks, is living with wife Jane, and what are assumed to be members of her family, in the 1860 Census. [1860 TN Census]

Note: "This material [sheet found in Stokely Memorial Library] was copied from an old Brooks Bible - No connection given." [The births listed in this Brooks Bible includes the two children listed above in Joel and Parthen Brooks's household - LH]:
