This photo is part of a two-album collection
which belonged to Eliza Harriet Lindley Henderson (ca. 1830-1903). Eliza
was the daughter of Jonathan Lindley (1796-1866) and Camilla Meachem
Lindley (1810-1861) of Chatham County, NC. In 1849 John and Camilla
Lindley moved to Howard County, Indiana. Eliza Lindley Henderson remained
behind in Chatham County with husband Isaac R. Henderson (1827-1862),
but she kept with her two albums filled with photos of her family, including
grandfather, mother and father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces and nephews. Also included are photos of her sons Elwood and
Orla Henderson, and her husband, Isaac R. Henderson. One of Eliza's
albums was passed to grandson Artemas Hezekiah Henderson and the other
to granddaughter Manie Henderson Capps, who passed them on in turn to
Thelma Henderson Schoolfield and Juanita McManus, respectively. Thelma
and Juanita kindly loaned the photos to Laura Henderson in the 2006
so that they could be posted and shared with our extended family. If
you can identify any of the people pictured in the unidentified photos,
please contact the administrator.
